It’s a bird! It’s a plane! It’s…clothespin superheroes??

Yes, lovelies, your eyes do not deceive you. You see, last week I fell absolutely head-over-heels in love with these clothespin wrap dolls made by Amy, my newest blog crush over at This Heart of Mine (you really must go check out her lovely place ASAP!) and have been searching desperately for an excuse to make some ever since. Then it occurred to me that they would be the perfect tiny present to send to some of our pen pals, (we exchange letters with three sets of twins), so I set about making a few. One set of our “twin pals” has a serious thing for superheroes, so I decided to equip their dolls with the ability to leap tall buildings with a single bound, and so on and so forth.

Superman comes complete with his own felt cape and a dashing curl falling rakishly over one eye. I mean, I guess he looks a little like Hugh Grant, but whatever. I like him.

Wonder Woman is ready for some super lady action with her rockin’ headband, hot shorts, and tall boots.
And a gorgeous mane of combed-yarn hair.
It only took me about 45 minutes, two wooden clothespins, a hot glue gun, and some embroidery thread and yarn to make these little dynamos. It probably would have taken even less time had I not stopped frequently to peruse superhero images on the internet and guffaw at my creations in progress. Seriously, if you are ever in a crafting rut, just take a break and make something FUN. My husband just shakes his head, but I really have been giddy ever since 😉
If you want to make your own set of clothespin wrap dolls, be sure to check out Amy’s beautiful tutorial for all the details.
