Life Skills: Playing with Language

This week’s Discover & Explore theme is “Life Skills.” Although there are many things I could write about for this topic, I decided to focus on building language- after all, what could be more of a functional than becoming a competent communicator?

Playing With Language Series

As a speech-language pathologist and now mother of young children, I am always thinking about ways to turn kids’ activities into more language-rich experiences. What I want you to know is that language-building activities don’t have to be elaborate or time consuming or costly…you are probably doing lots of them already without even knowing it! Back in May, Katie from Let’s Grow Speech and I put our heads together and came up with our top ten ways to play with language and we each posted on five of them over the course of a month.

Each post is jam packed with information, ideas, and even a few freebies to make language stimulation fun and achievable for parents and professionals. I have linked all ten posts to a convenient landing page for your reference- click on the link below to see the entire collection. And most importantly, have fun Playing with Language!
