Hi friends!
Things have been a little quiet on the blog this week, but that’s because I’ve got some fun things in the works behind the scenes! For starters, I just finished testing a pattern for an adorable dress by Little Lizard King that was released last night- if you follow us on Instagram or Facebook you saw a sneak peek or two 😉 I’ll be snapping some pictures of my sweetie wearing it on Easter and will share with you next week. Also in store for you next week is something I’m SUPER excited about- the beginning of a month of Toddler Art Tuesdays with my newest blogging buddy, Lindsay from You Are the Roots! If you haven’t checked her out, please do so- she is a great writer and has the most adorable little boy that she does fun tot school activities with. Oh, and guess what else? I have finally finished my creative/sewing nook and am putting the finishing touches on it so I can share it with you (hopefully) next week, too!
And now on to the whole reason for this post- yet another big behind the scenes project that I’ve been working on…the newly formed Twodaloo Snail Mail Group! If you have been following on Facebook, you may remember that I asked a few weeks ago if there was interest in forming a “snail mail” pen pal group for toddlers and preschoolers. Based on the overwhelming “yes!!” from readers there, I formed a new Facebook group and invited interested parties to join. I just got done matching about 75 kiddos ages 1-12 (there were some older siblings who were interested, too!) into pen pal groups and we are still taking new members! To join, go to the group’s Facebook page (find it HERE), request to join, and I will add you right away. Leave a comment with your full name, your child’s first name, and your contact email, and I’ll get to matching! Group members are asked to send a letter to the other members of your group (you are in groups of three) once a month and to remember birthdays. Cards and letters can be as simple or creative as you want- no pressure! I will be using the Facebook page to share fun mail ideas I run across for inspiration and I have also started a new Mail Ideas for Kids Pinterest board that members can use as a resource. Once we start sending and receiving letters, you can share pictures of your creations on the group page…who knows, you may end up on the blog!
Lots of exciting things in store for April, in the meantime, enjoy your holiday weekend!

I think this is amazing! I have a question/concern though. My son is 2 1/2 years old. He likes to draw but he still just scribbles, not writing words, pictures, or even shapes. I don’t honestly even think he would understand if he received mail or sent away a drawing. So I am wondering if there are parents wanting to do this that have kids his age? or if I can join the group to do it in a few months or more, and just wait (so I don’t forget/loose the group’s page). Thank you!
Hi Brittany! I started the group because my twins, who are 26 months, love getting cards in the mail from family. They beg me to take them to check the mail every day! So yes, there are tons of people in the group with kids the same age as your son (or even younger), including me! At this age, it’s more about the experience of getting the mail, not so much expecting them to create a masterpiece to send away. A scribble on a card is just fine, because the other kids in your group will be the same age. You can always join the group but wait to participate until you feel comfortable, just know that it is growing super fast and I am eventually going to have to put a cap on it so that I can keep up! Thanks for your question and have a great day!
Thank you! I am glad to know there are people doing it with his age of kids!!! I will join this. I hope he gets excited about getting mail!
Hi i would love my children to join the penpal group. Im not on Facebook so can i register through here please? My daughter is going to be 5 in 9days time and my son is 33months.
