Holiday Glitter Shirts with Free Candy Template!

Hi friends! You know the problem with blogging? And reading other people’s blogs? There is always just one more project idea that you MUST TRY right this second 😉

At least that’s what happened to me yesterday after seeing a tutorial for making boutique holiday shirts using Tulip Shimmer Sheets written by my real time friend Samantha from Crafty Texas Girls. Samantha went shimmer crazy this Christmas…you simply have to head over and see how she used these Shimmer Sheets to sparkle up her mantle this season…she has tons of fun and easy DIY decor ideas to share!

Using Samantha’s tutorial, I used red and silver shimmer sheets to turn a plain black toddler tank dress into something too sweet for words!

My models were less-than-cooperative this afternoon, but here is a close-up of the candy dress. You may recognize those “treasures” as ornaments from my soft tree and presents playset…Sydney is completely obsessed!

And here is a picture of my reluctant model in her entire ensemble, complete with Christmas leggings and glitter shoes. Too precious!

But don’t think I left Will out of the shimmer fest! He got his own shiny train shirt, which he was more than a little excited about 😉 Love that boy!

And there you have it! Two shiny holiday shirts created two days before Christmas in less than an hour. The hardest part was deciding on the patterns and finding templates. Since I traced the train pattern from a piece of clothing that we already owned (not created by me), I can’t share the template for that one. However, you can easily find your own by doing a quick Google search for free train templates. On the bright side, the peppermint candy pattern is my creation, so I have included a link to the template below that you can download for free! It’s not fancy, but it worked for me!

Here it is…click to download for appliques, shimmer shirts, or other crafty projects. Feel free to resize or otherwise alter as necessary!

Can you believe this will be our last Christmas craft/activity for the year (sniff)? My, how time flies!

A Texas-sized THANK YOU to Samantha at Crafty Texas Girls for the awesome idea and tutorial!
