Happy New Year, everyone! I hope this post finds you healthy, rested, and excited for things to come in 2013.
Did anyone just barf a little?
Surprisingly, I did not! This year, I am absolutely brimming with ideas for developing Twodaloo into a real community of parents, teachers, and therapy professionals who share ideas and support each other in this crazy journey called “parenthood.” This means that there are going to be some changes in the next few months as I work towards streamlining my content and making my blog more user-friendly.
First, you may have noticed that I have, like, 3 jillion categories at the top of my blog. The problem is, I only post regularly in about two of them. When I first began writing at Twodaloo, I didn’t have a clear idea of what type of blog I wanted it to become, so I decided to just post what I felt like posting and let it develop on its own. This may sound like a crazy strategy, but it worked for me! I am finding that I have the most fun and get the most satisfaction from writing about early childhood activities, play, and parenting. So from now on, my main focus will be sharing child-centered posts, although I will still share the occasional crafty project, party, or recipe on the side.
Another change- I am doing away with my Shop section. Although I will still be sewing for my own little ones and taking a few custom orders here and there, I will no longer be offering Deals of the Month…there just isn’t enough time in the day to do everything, and I don’t want to turn one of my favorite hobbies into a chore!
So what can you expect from Twodaloo in 2013?
- A new look! I’m getting a “blog makeover” soon, and I am beyond excited!
- More themed unit posts- this year, our themes will be centered around popular children’s books, so be sure to follow along so you won’t miss our Little Minds Book Club activities!
- More speech and language posts- I’ve got some really great topics in mind, many from reader questions!
- More toy recommendations, reviews, and giveaways!
Thank all of you for following along on this long, sometimes convoluted journey as my blog matures into what it wants to be. I love all of your feedback and sharing of ideas…my life and the lives of my children are enriched because of you!
