Is it just me, or does it seem like mustaches are taking over the world? I do believe facial hair is the new black! Even baby showers aren’t safe from the little furry devils. When I found out that my friend Erin was expecting a little boy, I knew that a playful “Little Man” shower would be right up her alley. My fabulous co-host Christine and I scoured Pinterest for inspiration and cooked up a pint-sized ‘Stache Bash to celebrate the new arrival. Here are a few highlights for your viewing pleasure Enjoy!
To set the tone for the party, I created a loud and proud deco-mesh wreath to grace Christine’s front door. The giant mustache is actually foam board covered in brown rose swirl minky left over from the “Manly Minky” baby blanket I shared last week.
Instead of a traditional guestbook, party-goers were asked to add their thumbprints to a fingerprint tree and sign their names inside or below the “leaves.” I love this idea because the mommy-to-be can frame the tree after the shower and use it as nursery decor. I found the tree here and added the ribbon accents to tie it into our color scheme.
Christine did the most gorgeous flower arrangements with blue and white hydrangeas. I wish I could have these in my house every day. Beautiful!
The adorable drink station was also created by Christine. I loved the blue punch…and it was absolutely delicious!
Here is our radiant mommy-to-be holding some festive mustache plates. Christine used her Cricut machine to make a variety of different styles of ‘staches to adorn all the plates and cups at the party. It was definitely a labor of love on her part!
As if that weren’t enough, she also made these clever bow tie silverware bundles using napkins and scrapbook paper. Almost too cute to use! We had a variety of finger foods to munch on during the festivities, including a hefty dose of sweets…
Christine made these yummy fruit skewers with donut holes. My mouth is watering just looking at the picture!
I contributed some chocolate cupcakes with salted caramel filling and Nutella buttercream frosting. I’ll post more about these little guys next week!
No “Little Man” celebration is complete without pretzel cigars! I used an old Cucina gift box, some adhesive fabric, and scrapbook letters from my stash to create the fun display.
A onesie clothesline was the perfect backdrop for the shower gifts. It only took me about an hour to complete all these necktie onesies, including the stitching. Easy and fun!
After we oo’ed and aahh’ed over all the baby gear, we got snap-happy at our fun photo booth. Everybody got a picture with the guest of honor.
Nobody left the celebration empty-handed. Everyone got a chocolate mustache (or two) for the road. Christine really outdid herself on these party favors!
